Examples of Corruption at the DOE

The Department of Education is in charge of regulating student loans. Any complaints about the lender should be sent to the Department of Education so they can launch an investigation. The DOE claims that all investigations are neutral and transparent and both sides will receive all documents related to the complaint.
This individual requested the documents nearly 3 month ago and has still not received them. He placed a Privacy Act request with the DOE and did not receive a response. It was later discovered that the DOE ombudsman office was hiding the request and not file the request in the proper manner.
While this individual waited nearly 3 months and received nothing, Navient received all the documents almost instantly.
